Cookies Policy
This Cookies Policy explains how Stobio uses cookies and similar technologies on the Stobio marketing website (stobio.com) and the Stobio Platform. Please read it together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognize your browser, remember preferences, or analyze how the site is used. Cookies are typically classified as:
- Strictly necessary cookies — required for the basic operation of a site (e.g. authentication, security). No consent is required.
- Preference cookies — remember choices such as language or display options.
- Analytics cookies — help measure how a site is used.
- Advertising cookies — used to deliver targeted advertising.
2. Cookies on the Stobio Marketing Website
The Stobio marketing website (stobio.com) currently uses no cookies or browser storage (no localStorage or sessionStorage) for analytics, advertising, or personalization. It serves static content only.
Stobio's product is server-side tracking; we do not place third-party advertising or tracking pixels on our own marketing site.
3. Cookies on the Stobio Platform
When you sign in to the Stobio Platform ({slug}.stobio.com, admin.stobio.com) we use strictly necessary first-party cookies and local storage to:
- Maintain your authenticated session (authentication token).
- Protect against CSRF and preserve session integrity.
- Remember UI preferences such as locale (language) and theme.
These cookies are essential for the Platform to function. They are not used for tracking across other websites and they expire when you sign out or clear your browser storage.
4. The Stobio Loader Script on Customer Sites
Stobio is a server-side tracking tool. When a Stobio customer installs the Stobio loader on their own website, the loader may use a first-party cookie on the customer's domain to identify returning visitors for the customer's own analytics purposes. This cookie is set on the customer's domain — not on stobio.com — and is controlled by the customer in their role as the data controller for their site. Stobio does not set cookies on third-party domains for cross-site tracking.
5. Third-Party Cookies
The Stobio marketing website does not place third-party cookies. The Stobio Platform may load third-party assets (for example fonts) which are configured to minimize cookie usage. If, in the future, we add features that rely on third-party cookies (e.g. embedded analytics or support widgets), we will update this Policy and, where required, request your consent.
6. Cookie List
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| stobio_session | Maintain signed-in session on the Platform | Session / up to 30 days | Strictly necessary |
| stobio_csrf | CSRF protection for authenticated requests | Session | Strictly necessary |
| stobio_locale | Remember selected language to render the Platform UI in the correct locale; required for the interface to function consistently across requests. | Up to 1 year | Strictly necessary |
Cookie names and durations may change as the Platform evolves; the list above describes typical usage at the time of this update.
7. Managing Your Cookies
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you delete existing cookies and block new ones:
- Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari — Settings → Privacy
- Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions
If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Platform may not function correctly (for example, you may be unable to sign in).
8. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The most recent version is always available on this page.
